The incandescent bulbs condemned for extinction

Edison bulbA new European Directive is active starting with September 2009. This Directive stipulates that the incandescent bulbs should be eliminated in some stages. The incandescent clear light sources with a light flux higher than 950 lumens (about 80Watts) and  matte light sources that does not have A class energy efficiency are forbidden on European Market starting with 1st of September 2009. The limit is lowered to 725 lumens (about 65 Watts) starting with 1st of September 2010. The incandescent light sources with an light flux higher than 450 lumens (about 45 Watts) are banned from 1st of September 2011 and those with a light flux higher than 60 lumens (about 7 Watts) are banned from 1st of September 2012.
